    • Unambitious in terms of career/$$$ making...

The mentality is that if you say I just wanna earn a decent salary and have time to enjoy myself, people will say you're a slacker...

    • You can be a slacker, but you must make sure you have money to keep you survive in singapore.

dont be a slacker and later you have to rob some old women's money or sit at temple front begging for money.

Not wrong, but not possible. The cost of a government roof over your head already puts you in 30 years debt.   If you intend to eat as well, you better work hard.

Want a family?  Put in your 12 hours a day in the office, keep upgrading your skills and pray you don't get retrenched.

    • with so called advance technology n the money the world has, actually humans can pretty much have more free time,at most work 3-4hours a day den spend the rest of the day with family or doing what they enjoy(beneficial to all, does not include harming others n self)

but yet none of such a thing is happening,y?cuz ppl are greedy n selfish..

so long as u feel u can earn a decent living with enough to put food on the table for u n ur family n pay off daily expenses, go ahead n slack off all u want..nth wrong with that.after all,not every one is a leader.

    • my peers and classmates wld rate me lacking in ambition. i don't have their motivation in `making it big'. my last boss actually chided me for not knowing 'how to sell myself at work to move up the ladders' in one of my performance review.

i do admit that some times it gets to you, when you see how well others are doing. "what's wrong with me?", i ask myself sometimes.

but often, when i look at what i DO have, which is above what many average singaporeans have, i am thankful; especially my understanding better half and my kiddos. they are the reasons why i wake up everyday and drag my butt to work.
